Exclusive Interview with Denis Kang

Date: 02. 27. 2008

MMA Manager:So Denis how is life treating you up in Canada?
Denis Kang:Life is good. I'm training hard with the Revolution Fight Team.

MMA Manager: Where are you training now and who are your training partners?
DK:My training partners are Bibiano Fernandes, Todd Gowenberg, Black Mamba, Bill Mahood. Rob Velek, Kajan Johnson, Tim Thurston, Tyler Jackson and my brother Tommy.

MMA Manager:Do you miss American Top Team at all?
DK: Of course I miss my ATT family, and especially the Florida weather. But I’m in good hands here and RFT is a great place to train with top notch athletes.

MMA Manager: What is the reason for you to stay in Canada and not in ATT?
DK: I am having some visa issues. Nothing serious but the process is just slow.

MMA Manager: When do you think you will be back in Florida?
DK: Hopefully by the end of this year.

MMA Manager:Lets talk about your last fight, how did you manage loosing? That must be bad luck or something, being the best in all fight and than just cough a lucky punch?
DK: In my opinion it was a combination of both. I must admit that Akiyama did a great job, and maybe the Gods of MMA were not in my favor that night.

MMA Manager:You have bad luck braking your hand in fights I hope after last fight you didn’t have any injuries? No everything was fine, i simply took some time off to rest my brain after getting KO-ed.
DK: When is your next fight and who do you think you are going to fight? My next fight is scheduled to be on the Dreams card for April 29th. I don’t know who my opponent is.

MMA Manager: For some of them who did not hear the famous story about you almost quitting MMA before coming to ATT, can you tell us what happened?
DK: Well I had a very hard time in the beginning of my career. I had a bunch of losses in a row and didn’t really feel like my career was going anywhere. However I still loved the sport so much I decided to keep on fighting anyway even if I was destined to lose every fight. At that moment when I stopped caring whether I won or lost is when I began to fight with more success.

MMA Manager: Do you think that is going to happened again and will it affect your next fight?
DK: No, my mindset is completely different now.

MMA Manager: What do you think about Dream organization?
DK: I think its a very positive change in the MMA world. This is a union of MMA giants so the fans will get to watch the next generation of shows.

MMA Manager: What is your training camp like and your schedule?
DK: I usually train twice a day, two hours each time. Lots of BJJ, lots of conditioning and lots of SPARRING !

MMA Manager: What is your prediction for the Henderson vs Anderson?
DK: I think that Henderson will win if it goes past the second round. But in the first two Anderson can win.

MMA Manager: What are your MMA plans for the future?
DK: I want to be a world champion and then become an ambassador for the sport like Randy Couture.

MMA Manager: If you could fight anybody who would it be?
DK: Fedor. He is the best.

MMA Manager: Tell me something interesting about yourself?
DK: I tell good jokes.

MMA Manager: Final words for your fans and readers?Any sponsors to thank?
