MMA Manager: “ I noticed you will be fighting in PRIDE, is that a short notice fight? “

JM: “It is a short notice fight but I was prepared for it. It ended up being Fujita April 8th so short notice ? Yeah, but I’ve been training.”

MMA Manager: “ Do you think you will be a 100% for it?”

JM: “ Yes, I’ll be in good shape.  Well, you are never a 100% for a fight, you always want another day to do something extra, but I’ll be in good shape.”

MMA Manager:   “How did you come out from your last fight from UFC, were you hurt?”

JM:   “I was a little banged up, but I was mostly disappointed more than anything. I didn’t have my best fight and lost but I don’t want to lose again so I have to  just learn from that and move on”

MMA Manager:   “What’s your strategy for the next upcoming fight? Is it the usual wrestling or ground?”

JM:   “Well you know my style, I’m better on the ground than anything but I work a lot with Howard Davis at ATT (American Top Team) and my stand up is better. I want to learn from my last fight and throw some shots and work on my boxing as well.”

MMA Manager: ” What do you think of UFC and PRIDE and the joining of the two?”

JM: ”It is very good for the fans as they are going to see many of the dream matchups, as far as the fighters ;it all depends.  If the current trend keeps going as far as paying the fighters better and helping them out, then I think it can be a positive thing.  Any time you have one organization controlling two entities you have the possibility of them not treating the fighters good.  But both PRIDE and UFC have a good reputation of treating the fighters well and hopefully that tread will continue and you would know they are under one umbrella”

MMA Manager:  ”It seems as if you will have a rough schedule as far Abu Dhabi and PRIDE”

JM:  “ I’m built to compete a lot.  I’m going to compete in this, I’m going to do a Naga at the end of the month,  Abu Dhabi so I’ve got a lot things out in the horizon.   I do well when I’ve got a lot of competitions to do.  The ones I have to peak for are Abu Dhabi and the big fight, this is going to help me for that”
