MMA Manager: Mr. Conan, that was pretty impressive for a forty-two year old guy!
CONAN: They say an old man can’t do anything and I believe he can. I’ve been training a lot and as you know I am in the best team, best coach, best pointers, that’s my coming back.
MMA Manager: What is your next step? Are you planning to go to big shows?
CONAN: I would say yes, but I don’t want to think of it like that right now. I want to go step by step, so I want to think about the next fight . I have a place for a big fight at the end of the year; I will probably sign in a month or a month and half.
MMA Manager: Were you hurt at any moment of the fight?
CONAN: When you fight at home its different than people just fighting here. You have the pressure, the responsibility to show to your fans how much they mean to you and they’ve been supportive of me for years. I’ve been in this game for a lot of years. I love it, it’s a passion. Sure everybody fights for the money but it’s also a big passion for me.
MMA Manager: He seems he is a pretty tough guy, hard to submit. I’ve seen you trying an arm bar and different ways as he tried to escape.
CONAN: I’ve got to give him credit, any man no matter what’s his condition when he steps in the ring he is a big shot, you got to really have balls to do that. To answer your question, whatever I tried to put on him was really hard for me because I had a small space to work with, so I was trying to get him tired from defending so he would open and allow me to punch.
MMA Manager: He didn’t seem to do much in this fight to stop you from winning.
CONAN: I don’t think he didn’t do it, I think he couldn’t do it. I studied his style and what he likes to do and you saw it, he is an expert in foot locks and leg locks. I did expect that to happen but I saw that was the only shot he had so I was prepared to defend and the more you try to do something in a fight that you know you can’t, the more tired you get so I was using that against him.
MMA Manager: Did you feel threatened when he had you in a leg lock?
CONAN: I was very comfortable, I was listening to my corner and his instructions, as you know they can see things that you can’t see and I was well connected to my corner. I was comfortable.
MMA Manager: Thank you Connan for your time.
CONAN: No problem, it was a pleasure.
